The role of a Peer Support Specialist is multifaceted, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with members served, facilitate meaningful conversations, and provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare's Recovery Culture.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Engage in empathetic conversations with members served to understand their needs and concerns.
- Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding among team members.
- Provide consultation to the team on recovery-oriented practices and strategies.
**Requirements:**
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Obtain Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA within 90 days of hire.
- Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care.
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance.
