Job Summary

The Bridge Safety Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of in-service transportation structures. This role will involve performing inspection team member duties and entering findings in PennDOT i-forms, reviewing and editing bridge files in BMS2, and preparing inspection reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct NBIS inspections of transportation structures
  • Perform condition assessments and bridge washings
  • Participate in minor maintenance activities


Work Environment

This position involves working primarily outdoors, exposing the worker to varying weather conditions and natural elements. The ability to extensively bend, kneel, stand, shovel, and lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs is required.

Requirements

  • CBSI (Certified Bridge Safety Inspector) with 3-5 years of bridge inspection experience
  • College degree in an engineering discipline preferred
  • Experience with iForms/BMS2
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
