Austin Telco Federal Credit Union is seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Head Teller. In this pivotal role, you will be integral to our member-centric operations. Your responsibilities will include providing exemplary member service, managing transactions, addressing inquiries, and offering training and support to fellow tellers, all while promoting our diverse range of financial products and services. This position provides a unique opportunity to thrive in a collaborative and nurturing atmosphere.

Compensation:

The starting salary for this position is $41,000 annually.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the opening and closing of the branch.
  • Deliver accurate, courteous, and prompt service to members, both in-person and via phone.
  • Provide members with information regarding account balances, available services, and general inquiries.
  • Guide members to the appropriate departments for required services.
  • Process payments, deposits, withdrawals, and other relevant account information.
  • Assist members in opening new accounts, ensuring all products, services, and associated fees are thoroughly discussed.
  • Support members in the loan application and closing processes.
  • Utilize the online computer system effectively to manage account information.
  • Ensure accounts are closed properly, verifying no outstanding balances or transactions.
  • Maintain familiarity with security protocols, including alarm systems and cash vault operations.
  • Timely balance cash drawers.
  • Handle stop payments, fraud/dispute paperwork, ACH requests, and wire transfers.
  • Manage transactions related to Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).
  • Facilitate transactions involving share term certificates (CDs).
  • Assist with mobile deposit processing as needed.
  • Collaborate with management as required.
  • Engage in cross-selling to inform members of available credit union services at every opportunity.
  • Participate in all assigned training sessions.
  • Work effectively with the management team.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with at least one year of relevant experience or training in a financial institution.

Good credit standing is essential and will be verified during the pre-employment process. A criminal background check and drug screening will also be conducted upon a contingent job offer.
