Procurement Supervisor

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the Procurement Supervisor will oversee all procurement activities within the organization. This role collaborates with team members, management, and suppliers to secure optimal pricing, timely delivery, and superior quality of materials essential for project completion.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Establish strategic objectives for the procurement department, including the development of metrics to monitor appropriate inventory levels.
  2. Conduct thorough research and assessment of suppliers based on criteria such as pricing, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, and the supplier's reputation.
  3. Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure favorable terms.
  4. Oversee the management of obsolete and slow-moving inventory to mitigate losses.
  5. Contribute to the enhancement of invoicing and collection processes.
  6. Solicit quotes from vendors for required materials.
  7. Lead regular cycle counts and annual inventory assessments.
  8. Issue purchase orders as necessary.
  9. Monitor the status of existing orders.
  10. Verify invoice costs and resolve any discrepancies.
  11. Establish blanket purchase orders.
  12. Implement vendor-managed inventory (VMI) systems.
  13. Supervise and provide guidance to the Procurement Assistant and Building Custodian.
  14. Manage the company’s mobile phone contracts and distribution.
  15. Conduct ISO audits biannually.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Education:

An Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement is required.

Essential Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse personalities and backgrounds.
  • Proficient in various office software applications.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
• Effective communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
• Capability to see details at close range.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Willingness to move throughout the office to assist colleagues and clients.
