About the Role

The Arc of Opportunity is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our Agency with Choice (AWC) Program. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with individuals with disabilities to support their independence and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement Individual Support Plans to help individuals achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Track and report data related to goals and objectives, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Act as a strong advocate for the individuals you support, promoting their rights and interests.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities in accessing community resources, enhancing their quality of life.
  • Attend mandatory training and meetings, maintaining all required certifications, including CPR and CPI.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor, tailored to the needs of the individuals you support.

Requirements

  • Pass background checks and pre-employment screenings, including TB test and CORI.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office, email communication, internet, and ADP payroll app.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with program participants and fellow staff.
  • Compassionate, resourceful, and eager to learn.
  • Able to use creative problem-solving skills and work independently when needed.
  • Physical demands may include frequent standing, pushing, pulling, walking, stooping, lifting, and/or twisting.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle meeting state requirements.
