Job Overview:

The Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a skilled Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our Specialized Needs Unit team.

Estimated Salary:

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on location and experience.

About the Role:

This position involves working with patients who require behavior intervention. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of key ABA concepts and techniques.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patient progress, reporting changes in behavior to the treatment team.
  • Assist in family and caregiver training, ensuring they understand how to support patients' needs.
  • Participate in treatment planning, identifying patient problems and suggesting modifications to their treatment plans.
  • Implement patient treatment plans using the behavior skills training approach.
  • Encourage patients' participation in therapeutic activities, promoting engagement and progress.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment, enforcing behavior management systems as needed.
Requirements:
  • RBT certification from the BACB required
  • High school diploma or GED, with an advance degree preferred
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities
  • Experience in a school setting
