We are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician 4 to join our team at M.C. Dean, Inc. in San Jose, CA. As an Electronics Technician 4, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining electronic security systems, performing preventive maintenance requirements, and performing inspections, evaluations, and inventory. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Install and maintain electronic security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance requirements, including routine inspections and testing of systems.
- Perform inspections, evaluations, and inventory of systems and equipment.
- Lead teams on large complex installation projects with limited supervision.
- Lead and document daily toolbox talks, ORMs, and safety audits.
- Install and maintain equipment at both the local and global level per design packages.
- Program and install head-end equipment for access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.
- Troubleshoot and isolate both systems and/or hardware at both a local and global level.
- Lead the on-site software commissioning and testing.
- Lead inspections, evaluations, and inventory.
- Perform take-off project drawings.
- Create, document, and track RFIs.
- Design assist and feedback.
- Document daily reports and project progress.
- Communicate project and team member issues/concerns to management.
- Create and manage project schedules.
- Integration of IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems.
- Forecast and manage project labor hours.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and subordinates.
- Guide and mentor technicians.
- Requires a valid driver's license.
- This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with our policy.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Military electronics training (minimum 720 classroom hours) or graduation from an accredited electronics technician program or graduation from an electrical apprenticeship program or an additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities.
- 10+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills is a plus.
- Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems.
- Software House CCURE, Verint, MDI, AMAG Symmetry, Bosch BVMS, Bosch IDS, Hirsch, Intercom Systems AIphone, FFT, Honeywell Video & Vindicator, and Proximex certifications and experience in installation of said systems.
- Lenel OnGuard Enterprise Security System certification (1000 and 2000).
- Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
- Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
- Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possesses good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
- See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
