Piper Shores is Maine's premier nonprofit continuing care retirement community, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Care for our residents with a person-centered approach to care.

Job Summary

This role is a key member of the Environmental Services team, providing leadership and role modeling to others, by demonstrating quality in their work, and by ensuring that resident needs within the department are met.

Responsibilities
  • Perform project work and floor care and carpet care duties throughout the facility as assigned, utilizing project equipment and opening apartments for housekeepers as necessary.
  • Conduct general housekeeping duties in apartments, cottages, common areas, assisted living, and the health center, including vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting cleared flat surfaces.
  • Direct and lead staff during deep cleans to ensure proper cleaning protocols and work is divided fairly and equitably.
  • Practice safe work habits to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Maintain all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in housekeeping is preferred.
  • A warm and friendly demeanor with a positive approach to interacting with Seniors is required.
  • The ability to stand and move for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds independently is necessary.
