Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Safety and Security Specialist. This role involves monitoring and patrolling designated areas within our facilities, responding to emergencies, and managing calls for assistance. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and maintaining accurate records. The specialist will also engage in de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, implement physical restraint procedures to ensure the safety of all individuals on-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to maintain a secure environment.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and service requests.
  • Perform thorough inspections and document incidents accurately.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to de-escalate tense situations.
  • Maintain records and reports in compliance with organizational standards.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant security experience is required.
  • Certification in Defensive Tactics for Security and Professional Communications is expected within three months of hire.
  • Current CPR certification is necessary.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within three months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective interaction with staff and visitors.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications is required.
  • Analytical skills are needed to assess security situations and prepare necessary reports.
  • Physical capabilities must align with the demands of the role, including the ability to walk, stand, and assist individuals as needed.
