Job Summary

The Special Procedures Technologist will serve as a key member of the Radiology Patient Care Team at Meadville Medical Center. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic radiology equipment operation and calibration processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all diagnostic procedures, operating technical X-ray equipment, and producing high-quality radiographs for radiologists' interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with procedures and devices, including Left Heart Cath, Right Heart Cath, Angioplasty, and Coronary Intervention.
  • Monitor and record ECG and hemodynamic data, and manage radiological equipment.
  • Ensure radiation safety and manage blood samples.
  • Function with autonomy in the absence of supervisors to continue routine patient care.
  • Maintain current knowledge of diagnostic x-ray and Special Procedures equipment.
  • Display ability to perform all diagnostic procedures within appropriate radiology modalities.
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of departmental function and operation.
Requirements

Professional knowledge of Radiology and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Must be a registered Radiologic Technologist or registry eligible, pass the registry within one year of hire, and have current ACLS certification or obtain within six months of assignment in department.
