Job Summary:

Telecare Corporation is seeking a skilled Mental Health Worker I to join our team at La Casa Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC). As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will provide direct care and support to adults with serious mental illness, promoting their recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, effective, and efficient implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients, acting as a role model in maintaining a hopeful and positive attitude in problem-solving and coping with disabilities associated with mental illness.
  • Participate in community meetings and groups, attending and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and treatment planning meetings.
  • Assist clients at mealtime, distributing meal trays, pouring beverages, and/or feeding clients in need of assistance.
  • Collect stool, urine, and other specimens, as requested, on assigned clients, and obtain client vital signs and weights as assigned.

Requirements:

  • One year of experience working with the severely and persistently mentally ill population, and demonstrated ability to perform at a consistently high level as a Mental Health Worker.
  • Current enrollment in a related school program can substitute for the one year work experience.
  • High school graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent are also required, as is current CPR certification.
