Position Overview:

The CNC Milling Technician is responsible for operating both Horizontal and Vertical computer numerical control machines as well as manual equipment to manufacture components. This position entails loading materials into the machines, overseeing operational processes, and ensuring the quality of the finished products. The role also includes managing production lots, collaborating with team members on manufacturing runs, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. The CNC Milling Technician is essential to the production workflow at Faxon Firearms.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor

Key Duties:

  • Perform all designated machine shop tasks
  • Identify and report any material flaws or inconsistencies
  • Adhere to quality control procedures and complete necessary inspection documentation
  • Keep the work area clean and well-organized
  • Conduct inspections of machined items and record results
  • Ensure all measuring tools are calibrated and functioning properly
  • Carry out maintenance on machinery as required
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols
  • Comprehend blueprint specifications prior to starting work
  • Achieve production targets and meet specified criteria
  • Utilize overhead cranes for the loading and unloading of materials
  • Complete all assigned tasks as directed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience:

  • At least 6 months of experience in a comparable position with a strong desire for personal growth
  • Mechanical skills and familiarity with measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints

Additional Skills:

  • Willingness to learn and master relevant machinery
  • Positive demeanor and a focus on quality
  • Knowledge of G Code and M Code is advantageous
  • Specific vision capabilities including close vision and color differentiation

Physical Requirements:

This role requires regular communication and physical activities such as standing, walking, and lifting items weighing over 50 pounds. The individual must be capable of effectively manipulating objects and possess good physical stamina.
