The Registered Dietitian serves as the key nutrition authority, delivering comprehensive nutritional care to clients aimed at enhancing health and managing various health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough nutrition screenings for clients.
- Evaluate dietary needs, restrictions, and existing health plans to create and implement tailored dietary-care strategies and provide nutritional guidance.
- Complete dietary consultations promptly following order notifications.
- Assist in crafting regular and therapeutic menu plans along with nutritional supplements tailored to the physiological and psychological requirements of clients.
- Collaborate with the Director of Dietary to assess the performance of Dietary staff, ensuring the provision of nutritionally adequate and high-quality food.
- Provide advice to clients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary strategies, modifications, and food preparation techniques.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all nutritional care activities.
- Educate individuals and groups on fundamental nutrition principles, healthy eating habits, and the importance of nutrition monitoring to enhance their quality of life and manage specific health issues.
- Work alongside physicians and healthcare staff to identify clients' nutritional needs and dietary restrictions.
- Review and approve the facility's diet manual annually in collaboration with medical personnel.
- Oversee food service operations to guarantee compliance with nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field that meets licensure requirements.
- Experience in managing Eating Disorders and Substance Abuse is highly desirable, particularly in settings catering to these populations.
- Hold current registration as a dietitian or eligibility for state endorsement where applicable.
- Maintain SERV Safe certification or equivalent food safety certification as mandated by state or facility regulations.
