Main Street Inc Maintenance Technician Job Summary

As a key member of our production team, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and develop proficiency in a wide range of systems, including maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance.
• Develop expertise in a variety of functions, including installation, maintenance, adjustment, and repair of equipment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other instruments to repair and maintain machinery and equipment.
• Clean and lubricate parts to ensure optimal performance.
• Work under general supervision, with assignments given verbally or in writing.
• Take initiative to recognize and correct problems, and perform maintenance duties as needed.
• Plan and accomplish work with minimal supervision, using initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Respond to daily equipment trouble and assist in troubleshooting, evaluation, and trouble reporting.
• Follow safety practices and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Maintenance Technician must have a strong foundation in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to learn and adapt quickly. The ideal candidate will have:
• An Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with a primary emphasis in mechanical or electrical fields.
• A minimum of 1 year to 18 months of related experience and/or training.
• Eagerness and willingness to learn and develop proficiency on specialized manufacturing equipment.
• Basic industrial plumbing skills.
• Basic TIG and ARC welding skills.
• Basic operation of milling machines and lathes.
• Electrical aptitude, including AC & DC circuits, PLC knowledge, Ladder Logic Interpretation, and Electrical Schematic Interpretation.
• Mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting mechanical issues, drilling/tapping, and interpretation of technical parts drawings and prints.
