Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Shift Supervisor at Becker Health. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of our medical center on an assigned shift basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate patient care activities in partnership with leadership
  • Coordinate placement of patients based on established criteria and current process
  • Serve as the first point of contact for providers, ancillary departments, patients, visitors, staff, and outside agencies to coordinate services, resolve issues, and promote service recovery as needed
  • Escalate unresolved needs or issues to the correct manager/director/administrator for assistance with resolution
  • Make staffing decisions for nursing departments based on patient care needs and competence of scheduled nursing staff
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with Associate Degree
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • 5 years professional nursing experience preferred; of that minimum 2 years as staff RN in Obstetrics (OB), Emergency medicine (ED), or Critical Care (CCU) specialty preferred
  • 1 year with supervisory responsibilities preferred
  • A valid, current, full and unrestricted Alaska RN license
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Heartcode Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • NRP and TNCC certification
  • Knowledge of nursing care principles, practices, diagnosis, and processes
  • Knowledge of Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures
