About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Core Commerce engineering team at Target. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining our enterprise platform, ensuring seamless and secure online shopping experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement robust and scalable systems using Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy new features and enhancements
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Stay up-to-date with new and evolving technologies and contribute to the team's knowledge sharing
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code is delivered
Requirements
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Strong domain-specific knowledge of Target's technology capabilities and key competitors' products
  • Working knowledge of package-specific configuration and deployment
  • Ability to design and implement new testing methods and resolve routine and non-routine technical issues
Preferred Experience
  • Basic understanding of online retail domain, including online order lifecycle, fulfillment flows, and delivery logistics
  • Knowledge of backend flow for online search and details page, and online checkout flows
