Sign Language Interpreter

We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team at a supportive school near Bethany, OK. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in fostering communication and inclusion for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide accurate and effective interpretation of spoken language into sign language for students during classes, meetings, and school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure clear communication and understanding of students' needs.
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Promote awareness and understanding of deaf culture among students and staff.
- Maintain accurate records of interpretation sessions and student progress as required.
- Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID, NIC) is required.
- Previous experience interpreting in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building rapport with students and staff.
