Responsibilities

The Surgical Services Specialist is responsible for:

  • Facilitating the safe and efficient execution of surgical operations.
  • Preparing the surgical environment with sterile drapes, solutions, and necessary instruments.
  • Providing required instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
  • Assisting in the preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients.
  • Maintaining an organized instrument setup and monitoring instrument counts throughout surgical procedures.
Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Current BLS Provider certification required within one month of hire or transfer.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required prior to employment.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or four years of applicable experience.
