Job Summary

As a Lead Bookseller at Barnes & Noble, you will be responsible for creating memorable shopping experiences for customers by providing exceptional service and sharing your knowledge of books with your team and customers. You will lead the team and manage the store to achieve sales goals, efficiencies, and operational excellence. Your role will involve mentoring and supporting booksellers, developing their expertise, and working collaboratively within the cluster to ensure the best experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Create memorable shopping experiences for customers by providing exceptional service and sharing your knowledge of books.

Lead the team and manage the store to achieve sales goals, efficiencies, and operational excellence.

Mentor and support booksellers, developing their expertise and working collaboratively within the cluster.

Work collaboratively with the cluster commercial support team to support tailored inventory, consistent local pricing, and assortments that reflect the community and customer.

Ensure the efficient execution of store operations by directing work, managing receiving, returns, and other day-to-day processes.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in operations and communicate with the team and cluster to enhance the bookstore experience for customers and fellow booksellers.

Communicate collaboratively with the store team and cluster to deliver initiatives that support booksellers through fair and consistent feedback and respectful accountability.
