Position Overview

The Procurement-Buyer II will take charge of tactical purchasing functions for both direct and indirect materials and services. This includes preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders, negotiating advantageous terms and volume discounts with suppliers, monitoring orders through to delivery, and addressing payment discrepancies. You will assist the Procurement team in minimizing supply chain risks, promoting supplier optimization, and managing procurement activities for projects and new product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze material requirements and inventory levels to optimize stock.
  • Manage purchase orders and establish favorable supply agreements to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning, Manufacturing, and Strategic Sourcing teams to meet delivery and productivity targets.
  • Engage with suppliers and internal engineering teams to enhance purchase price variance.
  • Utilize Danaher Business System tools to drive operational excellence.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in contract management, or a Master's degree in a related area.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Experience in coordinating changes with suppliers and resolving discrepancies in orders and invoices.
  • Familiarity with ERP procurement systems, preferably Oracle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in packaging, chemical, or plastics commodities markets.
  • Knowledge of procurement in regulated environments, such as healthcare.
  • APICS or ISM certification.
