Job Title: Club Receptionist

About the Role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our reception area, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for members and guests. This involves processing guest check-ins, handling member retention, and maintaining exceptional customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute procedures as outlined in our front desk manual
  • Answer phones, take messages, and transfer calls in a timely manner
  • Stay knowledgeable about club amenities and surroundings to provide accurate information to members and guests
  • Communicate effectively with members using their name and promoting genuine kindness and hospitality
  • Promote and execute sales targets for supplements and shakes to meet monthly goals
  • Attend all staff meetings and events, participating actively in discussions and workshops
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with members and staff, fostering a positive and inclusive environment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained reception area at all times
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations, prioritizing member safety and well-being
  • Promote and execute tanning sales (where applicable) and schedule tennis court times (where applicable)

Expectations:
  • Present a professional demeanor when representing Genesis Health Clubs at all times
  • Promote club events during shifts, encouraging members to participate and engage
  • Show ability to multitask efficiently, handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-direct and motivate to complete tasks independently, meeting deadlines and expectations
  • Contribute input in developing strategies to support club goals and objectives, driving business growth and success
  • Respond promptly to common inquiries or complaints from members, providing effective solutions and resolving issues

Requirements:
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, including flexibility to adapt to changing schedules
  • Hold current CPR certification or obtain within 60 days of start date
  • Show ability to work collaboratively with others, building strong relationships and teamwork
  • Experience in cash handling and credit card transactions
  • Excellent customer service skills, focusing on delivering a high-quality experience for members and guests

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to stand for extended periods, moving around the reception area efficiently
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds, maneuvering equipment and supplies as needed
  • Able to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues, reading, writing, and speaking fluently
