Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Independence Dental Services. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, plaque removal, and fluoride application.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and offer personalized recommendations for at-home care.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments through oral health screenings and reviewing medical histories.
  • Record and review patient medical histories and chart conditions of decay and disease for dentist evaluation.
  • Take dental x-rays as required and assist the dentist during procedures by preparing and providing instruments and materials.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes in dental software.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a safe, sterile environment for patients and staff.
  • Stay informed on current dental practices and advancements in the field.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and deliver excellent patient care.
  • Maintain dental equipment and sterilize instruments.
Requirements:
  • Valid dental hygiene license.
  • Associate's degree in dental hygiene or a related field.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, dental anatomy, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix and Opendental.
  • Experience in dental assisting is a plus.
  • Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to educate and interact with patients.
  • Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
Skills:
  • Medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
  • Experience with electronic health records systems.
  • Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control.
  • Patient assessment and medical documentation expertise.
  • Knowledge of dental assisting, coding, and medical records management.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, lean, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
