Production Operative / Baler Operator

Lignetics is expanding its range of consumer brands across various categories, including wood pellets for home heating, BBQ pellets for grilling, wood pellets and shavings for animal bedding, and a wood fiber-based cat litter. Each product boasts unique features and benefits, all connected by a remarkable story of recycling, sustainability, and carbon neutrality. We transform recycled sawdust into valuable, branded consumer goods.

Responsibilities of the Production Operative / Baler Operator:
  • Assist in operating various packaging machinery
  • Work closely with machines that compress wood by-products generated from milling operations or similar manufacturing processes
  • Open compression chamber doors to facilitate the placement of bags and removal of bales from packaging equipment
  • Record bale weights and maintain daily activity logs according to company standards
  • Perform routine maintenance on packaging machinery
  • Learn and execute standard setups, adjustments, routine maintenance, and operational characteristics of all packaging equipment
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification for basic forklift duties as required
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Qualifications/Education for the Production Operative / Baler Operator:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing and production lines preferred
  • Good eye, hand, and foot coordination required
  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods and multitask
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills necessary
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
