Job Description

At Skin Cancer Specialists, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Histology Technologist to join our team. As a Histology Technologist, you will play a critical role in the preparation and examination of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical testing of human tissue sections, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all patient information throughout all phases of laboratory testing.
  • Process specimens for referral testing following established protocol for the position of Histology Technologist.
  • Accessioning of specimens, including laying out specimens, identifying STAT specimens, and entering pathology requisitions into Intellipath.
  • Perform data entry, including verifying test results and correcting any detected errors in reports.
  • Perform quality control as established by the laboratory, including monitoring inventory for expiration dates and ordering as necessary.
Requirements
  • Completion of at least a High School Degree or equivalent, successful completion of a NAACLS-approved Histology Program, ASCP Certification, and a Histology License in the State of Georgia.
  • 3-5 years of Histology Experience is preferred.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work well independently.
Work Environment

This job operates in a clinical laboratory setting, and the candidate must be able to work with standard office and laboratory equipment, including computers, scanners, forceps, and microtomes.
