Role Summary:
The HVAC Lead Installation Technician is tasked with the thorough and satisfactory installation of residential HVAC systems and components. This role includes supervising Assistant Installation Technicians to guarantee quality workmanship, engaging with clients to provide effective comfort solutions, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install heating, cooling, and ventilation systems and accessories according to company standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Design, fabricate, and install various ductwork and fittings as required. Conduct limited diagnostics as needed.
  • Complete installation documentation to ensure accuracy and facilitate future reference.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Perform start-up procedures on heating and cooling systems and other components.
  • Manage the delivery and removal of equipment necessary for installation tasks.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and accountability of company property, vehicles, and tools.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for the installation team.
  • Ensure the company vehicle is adequately stocked, return defective warranty parts, and manage vehicle inventory as needed.
  • Prioritize safety and quality in all tasks.
  • Train apprentices in various installation and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
  • 3 to 5 years of verifiable experience in HVAC installation.
  • Understanding of residential heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Familiarity with the layout and installation standards for residential ductwork.
  • Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Possession of necessary trade tools.
  • Ability to document detailed job notes for customer accounts.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and learn from colleagues.
  • Open to new ideas and process improvements.
  • Frequent communication with dispatchers for job status updates.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • NATE Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
