Tact Staff is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Nurse RN Oncology Specialist to join our team. As a Travel Nurse RN Oncology Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing top-notch care to patients in need.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care by incorporating the principles of Relationship Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills to manage patient care effectively.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
- Prioritize patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning for after-hospital care, delegating tasks as necessary.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, demonstrating effective allocation of material resources.
Requirements:
- NYS RN License
- BLS
- 2 years of med/oncology experience
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- 1 year travel experience for Travel positions (not required for Per Diem positions)
- EPIC experience highly preferred
Work Environment:
This is a 13-week travel nursing job in a 3N Medical/Oncology unit at Mount Sinai Brooklyn. The unit has an average census of beds and follows staffing guidelines of 1:6. The schedule is 3x12 with weekends and holidays required.
