Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated RN - Employee Health to join our team at PeaceHealth. As an RN - Employee Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our employees. Your primary responsibility will be to provide medical services, including vaccinations, health screenings, and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct post-offer immunization screenings and evaluate accident and illness incident reports
  • Assess needs for education and immunizations according to specific job classifications
  • Investigate and manage exposures to blood-borne pathogens and other contagious diseases
  • Maintain programs and services to remain in compliance with OSHA and DNV standards and mandates
  • Participate in developing patient care aspects of onsite programs, including development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and programs and continuous quality improvement activities
  • Responsible for infectious disease prevention, surveillance, and post-exposure treatment and follow-up
  • Conduct new-hire medical screening, TB screening, and immunization of healthcare workers against specific illnesses
  • Maintain confidential healthcare worker medical files
Requirements
  • Accredited School of Nursing
  • Minimum of 3 years current nursing practice required, preferably in an acute care setting
  • Registered Nurse in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support
  • Demonstrated knowledge and interest in OSHA regulations, occupational safety, occupational exposure management, injury/illness intervention, and case management
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer: proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Public speaking and community education program development and presentations
Working Conditions

Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH)

Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures

Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts)

Perform hands-on CPR at least 20 mins using lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA)

Ability to move around area with frequent sitting

Bending/stooping/squatting/reaching/kneeling frequently

Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently

Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles

Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment

Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted)

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
