Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a key member of our emergency department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient care activities, such as vital sign collection, medication administration, and wound care, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or provider.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families during times of crisis.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- BCLS certification required.
- Previous experience in an emergency department or medical assistant role preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- One of the following certifications/programs required:
- B-EMT certification
- Graduate from a formal Medical Assistant program
- Completion of a formal nursing education program
- Completion of a formal medical doctor education program
- OR one (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience in lieu of above completed certification/program
Additional Information:
- Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period required.
- EMT license preferred.
