Career Guidance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Career Guidance Specialist to join our team at Oakland Schools. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and career success of students.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $85,000 per year. In addition to your salary, you will also receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Scheduling and conducting Education Development Plan initiation and updates sessions for 9-12 grade students.
- Monitoring and maintaining the Xello database.
- Assisting with standardized test administration and providing training sessions for staff and parents.
- Maintaining and monitoring the MHS Career Center.
- Scheduling post-secondary school and military visits.
- Overseeing NHS peer tutoring.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent organizational skills, be able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents, and have a strong understanding of career development principles. A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required, and certification as a Career Development Facilitator is preferred. You will also need to be proficient in Xello, Skyward, and Microsoft Office.
