Psychiatrist - Correctional Facility

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Pinckneyville Correctional Center in Illinois. As a Psychiatrist with Wexford Health Sources Inc, you will be responsible for providing consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to inmates at the correctional facility.
Key Responsibilities- Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates referred by medical or clinical services staff.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and develop treatment plans for inmates with mental health needs.
- Collaborate with medical and support staff to ensure comprehensive care for inmates.
- Screen inmates prior to community correctional facility placement and evaluate inmates for possible transfer to a psychiatric treatment facility.
- Provide psychiatric services for inpatient Mental Health Unit, including assessment, diagnostic, staffing, treatment planning, and regular review of all inmates assigned.
- Current state MD license
- Board Eligibility or Certification in Psychiatry preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Medical degree; internships/residency in Psychiatry
- Preferred experience: Correctional experience
