Overview & Expectations
As a Tax Associate Intern, you will acquire essential knowledge and experience through various tax-related assignments, allowing you to evaluate your technical skills. Collaborating with our experienced staff and management, you will benefit from their insights while enhancing your own capabilities. The Forvis Mazars Student Associate Program is an outstanding opportunity for accounting students in their sophomore or junior years, aiming to gain practical experience within the tax division of Forvis Mazars. This program may also lead to potential full-time roles and career growth post-graduation.
Your Contributions:
- Preparation of general ledgers and financial statements
- Execution of periodic closing processes, including account reconciliations and necessary adjustments
- Preparation of individual and corporate tax returns
- Management of accounts payable
- Filing of sales and payroll tax returns
- Development of depreciation schedules
- Deliver proactive client service and meaningful accounting solutions

- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
- Have proficient computer skills
- Can effectively balance academic responsibilities with the demands of multiple clients and projects while consistently meeting deadlines
Work Schedule Requirements:
We offer flexibility to accommodate your academic commitments, provided you can:
- Align with our standard business hours of Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
- Be available to work each weekday (Monday to Friday)
- Commit to a minimum of 15-25 hours weekly during the academic year
- Work 20+ hours weekly during the summer
Essential Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting from an accredited institution
- Ability to manage academic schedules alongside the workload for various clients and projects while consistently meeting deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
Note: Candidates applying for positions with Forvis Mazars must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
