Job Summary

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and customer service in emergency and non-emergency situations. As a member of the AMR team, you will respond to medical emergencies, provide treatment and care, and ensure the safe transportation of patients to medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of treatment protocols, response requirements, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in company policies and system components.
  • Ensure certification and licensure requirements are met to perform tasks in the assigned system.
  • Operate a company vehicle safely and in accordance with company policies.
  • Develop skills to quickly and safely locate addresses through knowledge of number systems and street layouts.
  • Ensure the unit remains in a state of readiness in terms of mechanical reliability, medical supply, and equipment.
  • Report any discrepancies in vehicle or equipment standards to the Lead Paramedic or Supervisor.
  • Complete all necessary EMT documentation as outlined in company policy.
  • Report all problems and unusual occurrences to the Lead Paramedic or Supervisor.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to hygiene and uniform standards.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services.
Education and Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • CA Drivers' License
  • Ambulance Driver's License (from DMV)
  • Medical Examiner's Card or DL51 (from DMV)
  • State of California EMT License
  • CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider)
  • Driving record in compliance with McCormick's Safety and Driving policy (proof required if conditional employment is made)
  • ICS courses (IS-100B, IS-200B, IS-700A, IS-800B)
