About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Student Success Coach to join our team at Bridge Academy of Southwest Michigan (BASWM). As a Student Success Coach, you will work closely with students, staff, and community partners to provide support and guidance to help students achieve their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in overcoming barriers to success and promote their academic and career development.
  • Maintain regular check-ins with students, provide guidance, and encourage their engagement in school requirements.
  • Coach students on positive behavior and provide additional support when needed.
  • Track student data accurately and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide mentoring and wrap-around services to students, referring them to community resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with Michigan Works and business partners to develop work-based learning opportunities and job shadowing experiences.
  • Outreach to businesses for project engagement and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Work with the BASWM Student Success Team to provide guidance and resources to post-secondary institutions and set up college tours and guest speakers.
  • Assist young adults in finding and maintaining quality employment and/or post-secondary educational programs.
  • Monitor student progress and outcomes for 12 months after program completion.
  • Develop communication strategies with students and their families on a regular basis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or 2 years' experience in education, social service, counseling, business, or a related discipline.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a chauffeur's license for student transportation.
  • Experience working with youth and knowledge of positive youth development strategies.
  • Strong human relations, leadership, supervision, and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to establish boundaries while developing supportive relationships with students.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer applications and data entry.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed initiatives and community resilience models.
  • Criminal records clearance and unprofessional conduct clearance.
