Position Summary

The Ski School Operations Manager will oversee the California Children's location, collaborating closely with the Ski and Ride School Leadership team to ensure smooth daily operations and seasonal success, prioritizing employee and guest safety, exceptional service, and financial responsibility. A thorough understanding of the location's dynamics and its integration with other resort departments is essential.

This role is vital to the overall effectiveness of the Ski and Ride School, the resort, and the organization.

Position Specifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Skier Services Director, Senior Managers, and the Ski and Ride School Leadership to meet safety, guest service, and financial objectives.
  • Lead the Ski and Ride School Leadership team, demonstrating effective communication and an approachable demeanor.
  • Actively engage in the development and enhancement of supervisory and coaching staff.
  • Ensure uniformity in supervisory actions, end-of-season evaluations, adherence to standard operating procedures, and guest service benchmarks across the Ski and Ride School.
  • Promote and embody the Company's core values, mission, and vision.
  • Champion safety initiatives: Educate staff on safety protocols and compliance with company policies, addressing incidents through established reporting processes.
  • Oversee accurate scheduling of coaches to meet anticipated business demands and prevent guest service disruptions.
  • Ensure timely and precise payment processing for coaches through the digital timecard system.
  • Address service-related issues for both external and internal guests promptly.
  • Monitor guest experience quality daily and provide constructive feedback to coaches and relevant departments to enhance performance.
  • Evaluate the financial health of the location and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Foster positive relationships within the Ski and Ride School and across other departments.
  • Communicate insights (both positive and negative) to Senior Managers and the Director of Skier Services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a Ski and Ride School setting.
  • PSIA/AASI level 2 certification (level 3 preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Outstanding guest service abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Children's Specialist certifications.

The anticipated salary range is $66,560 - $75,000. This range reflects the expected compensation for this position, with individual decisions based on various factors.
