Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates in the formulation and upkeep of a tailored, goal-oriented care plan, engaging with other healthcare professionals to ensure the comprehensive needs of patients and caregivers are addressed.
2. Monitors, evaluates, documents, and communicates patient responses to treatments and educational initiatives, adjusting care priorities based on patient and caregiver requirements.
3. Actively participates in departmental and service enhancement initiatives, contributing to positive outcomes through committee involvement, quality improvement activities, and the training of new staff.
4. Administers a wide array of treatments and therapies, including respiratory care, suctioning, medication administration, and monitoring of vital signs, while reporting any significant changes to the supervising physician or registered nurse.
5. Assists patients and families during their transition into the clinical environment, providing orientation and support throughout their care journey.
6. Offers emotional support to patients and families, employing de-escalation techniques for distressed individuals and facilitating coping strategies appropriate for various age groups.
Educational Background:
* Completion of a state-approved practical nursing program.
Licensure/Certification:
* Current licensure as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in North Carolina, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience:
* Minimum of one year of practical nursing experience is required.
