Grooming Technician

This role is responsible for enrolling and completing the Paragon training program, a 15-week virtual learning experience that teaches the fundamentals of bathing and grooming, as well as safety, pet first aid, and CPR. The successful candidate will be guided through hands-on practice, book work, online exams, and video watching, with a focus on developing the necessary skills to provide exceptional pet care.

• Enroll and complete the Paragon training program within the required timeline
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of pet behavior, safety, and handling
• Assist in generating business through customer interactions, appointment scheduling, and follow-up calls
• Maintain accurate records of pet clients, including services provided and vaccination records
• Operate computer systems, cash registers, and other store equipment as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to work with dogs and cats, demonstrating patience and compassion
• Must be able to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with varying hours and shifts

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste. The ability to stand for long periods, move around the salon, and lift up to 50 pounds is also required.
