POSITION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates with our residents and interdisciplinary care teams to foster a secure and nurturing therapeutic atmosphere by delivering both direct and indirect patient care.

Our facilities include:
3 East, a specialized 31-bed unit dedicated to residents with Alzheimer's and dementia, focuses on personalized care tailored to individual needs.

Essential components of this unit involve employing both verbal and non-verbal communication strategies, recognizing the challenging behaviors often exhibited by residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia, and understanding that these behaviors can serve as valid forms of communication.

This unit is committed to providing essential care for residents requiring long-term placement in a homelike setting.
The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit, located on the second floor, comprises 42 beds and offers short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for patients recuperating from fractures, joint replacements, back surgeries, strokes, and other short-term medical conditions where rehabilitation is advantageous. Nursing services typically encompass IV therapy, wound management, and geriatric assessment and oversight.
3 West is a 42-bed long-term care unit that provides necessary support for residents needing extended care in a homelike environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Educational Background:
Associate Degree in Nursing
Must possess a valid State of Maine or compact RN license

Experience:
1-3 years of prior RN experience

Essential Skills:
Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred
Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential.
Ability to work effectively within a team of healthcare providers
Flexibility to cover shifts 24/7
Willingness to float to other units as necessary

An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates proficiency in the responsibilities outlined above may be accepted in lieu of the stated education and experience requirements.
