Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team at Knute Nelson. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and developing occupational therapist services in accordance with the standards and practice of occupational rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the principles of occupational therapy and be able to work closely with patients to develop tailored treatment plans that meet their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Client Care: Evaluate clients, obtain and interpret subjective and objective data, and develop treatment plans and programs including short-term and long-term goals in accordance with physician orders.
- Client Records and Billing: Provide accurate and timely documentation of services rendered utilizing agency EMR, demonstrate understanding and knowledge of all payer sources and authorization required, and document collaboration with COTAs per regulations.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, families, referral sources, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team, demonstrating exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Follow-Up Programs: Recommend and assure continuation of appropriate therapeutic follow-up programs and activities, develop programs to optimize successful discharge with highest function possible, and make referrals to continuation programs as necessary.
- Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Minnesota.
- Must obtain CPR certification within 6 months from date of hire.
- Must have a valid driver's license and use of an insured personal vehicle.
- Must complete and pass a state required background study.
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing to the extent required by the position.
- Able to physically perform the duties required by the position.
- Required to have the ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, clients and visitors.
The salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
