We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Emergency Department team at Medical City Dallas, a leading provider of healthcare services in the nation.

Salary: $62.00 per hour plus applicable differentials

About the Role

This is a seasonal PRN position with a full-time schedule, requiring a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the 32-week program. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, accessing and prioritizing incoming patients, performing comprehensive nursing assessments, and providing direct care and education to patients and their families.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • You will quickly access and prioritize incoming patients, using your advanced skills to identify potential emergencies and provide timely interventions.
  • You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, stabilizing patients and developing effective care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • You will provide direct nursing care, supervising non-licensed staff within your scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
  • You will educate patients and their families on follow-up care instructions, making necessary referrals as required.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a current licensure as a Registered Nurse (ASN) from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners, or hold a compact license accepted in Texas.

Essential Qualifications:

  • BSN required
  • Minimum one year of experience in an acute care setting, including one year in an emergency department
  • CEN and/or CPEN certification preferred
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment start date
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course certification required within one year of employment start date
  • TNCC/ENPC certification required within 18 months
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Satori Alternatives Management Aggression certification required within one year of employment start date
