Job Summary

The University of North Texas System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Biomedical Research Coordinator to join our team. As a Biomedical Research Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting ongoing research projects focused on understanding mechanisms of neuroprotection. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Measuring intraocular pressure (IOP) in rodent models
- Conducting intravitreal injections and recording Pattern Electroretinogram (PERG) and Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) data
- Isolating tissues for analysis and performing cell survival studies
- Performing PPD staining of optic nerves to evaluate axonal protection

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and skills in using a range of software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SPSS, STATA
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to perform administrative/clerical tasks

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with rodent handling and experimental procedures
- Proficiency in histological techniques, including tissue isolation and staining
- Familiarity with electrophysiology techniques such as PERG or VEP
- Previous experience in data analysis and report preparation
