Position Title: Catholic Program Coordinator

Employment Type: Part-time

Location: Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska

Qualifications Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of one year experience in a role as a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator or educator, or two years of volunteer service in Catholic ministries.
  • Willingness to obtain a valid Catechist certificate from the Archdiocese of Military Services within six months.
  • Must be in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church and have received the Sacraments of Confirmation.
  • Familiarity with Catholic religious education curricula, including mission, theology, Biblical interpretation, and age-appropriate instructional materials.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage actively in the Catholic worship and religious programs at the Eielson Chapel.
  • Collaborate with the Catholic Chaplain and chapel volunteers to develop effective Catholic community and religious education initiatives.
  • Plan, oversee, and instruct Catholic Faith Formation classes, or coordinate volunteer educators for the chapel's programs.
  • Organize and facilitate Baptism Preparation sessions for families seeking child baptisms and individuals aspiring to become Godparents.
  • Maintain electronic records of attendance, including names, dates, and participant rosters for review by the Catholic Chaplain.
  • Supervise all Catholic volunteer initiatives, including recruitment and training for roles such as educators, lectors, and altar servers.
  • Document minutes for the Catholic Parish Advisory Council (CPAC) and support worship services.
