Test Engineering Expert for Northrop Grumman

This is an exciting opportunity for a Principal/Sr. Principal Test Engineer within the TER team to play a crucial role in ushering test plans through execution and reporting via QBDs. QBDs are predetermined tasks associated with earned value and IMS. You will achieve this goal by leveraging your first-hand experience, SME expertise, referencing NG PrOP, and/or pathfinding.
Your responsibilities as a Principal/Sr. Principal Test Engineer will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure support for test planning and execution. Specific roles and responsibilities may include:
- Daily use of JIRA, a project management tool that helps the team plan, track, and manage work
- Identifying and facilitating resources needed to successfully execute assigned test plans
- Developing and releasing test aids using CAD and PLM software
- Collaborating with GSC to procure COTS and/or Non-SUT material
- Developing SoWs and guiding them through the approval process
- Maintaining responsibility for helping develop and facilitate IWOs to support test needs
- Collaborating with test provider stakeholders to develop detailed test schedules
- Preparing for and supporting TRRs
- Ensuring all QBDs are adhered to for a successful test event as test execution director
- Oversight of completing technical reports and test results, including ensuring all required documentation is properly stored via NG's TDMS
- Frequent collaboration with external IPTs
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, including critical thinking and technical problem-solving skills
- Technical writing for test execution products
- Preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, documents to leadership
- Other TER tasks as required by supervisor
The salary for this position ranges from $86,600 to $130,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and other benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), educational assistance, life insurance, employee assistance programs, paid time off, health and wellness resources, and employee discounts.
This is a full-time position with a standard 9/80 schedule, allowing employees to take every other Friday off.
