Microbiologist Assistant

Smithers is seeking a highly skilled Associate Microbiologist to join our team at our cannabis testing facility in Wareham, MA.

1. Conduct microbiological analysis of cannabis flower, concentrates, and infused products in accordance with state regulations and ISO 17025 standards.
2. Coordinate scheduling with the Laboratory Manager and ensure timely reporting of results.
3. Enter sample information into the laboratory information management system (LIMS) and maintain accurate records.
4. Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of instrumentation and assist with cross-training for chemical analyses.

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology or a related field and 6 months of laboratory experience, or 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must be at least 21 years old and pass the Cannabis Control Commission background check for Laboratory Agent registration.

The Associate Microbiologist will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with regular exposure to chemicals and laboratory equipment. The ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work more than 8 hours per day, on occasion, is required.
