Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor junior electrical engineers and engineers in training
  • Create work schedules to achieve on-time submission of engineering deliverables
  • Develop electrical engineering calculation processes for string sizing, DC and MV cable calculations, and inverter sizing
  • Design and develop preliminary design concepts for solar PV and BESS system design
  • Develop and contribute to detailed design concepts for solar PV system design
  • Provide long-term detailed design and optimization support for solar PV system design
  • Develop and maintain electrical engineering calculation tools
  • Collaborate with the Estimating, Procurement, Project Management, and Construction teams
  • Develop and maintain a database for different equipment involved in solar PV design
  • Contribute to construction details and Bill of Material for various construction work packages
  • Develop and contribute to design processes from conceptual to constructible levels
  • Review Utility interconnection documents
  • Develop Pvsyst energy generation models
  • Observe, record, and calculate contractual Utility PV Performance Testing and Commissioning obligations
  • Apply innovative engineering principles for cost optimization of utility-scale solar PV systems
Requirements
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience (II) 4-6 years of experience (III) with Electrical Engineering and/or work related to Solar PV or Renewable Energy Construction projects
  • Professional experience with Utility PV Engineering Contract deliverables in EPC settings
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Office
  • Electrical engineering simulation software experience a plus
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications
