Position Overview

This role is essential to be present onsite, three times a week, in the designated office locations.

The Sustainability Operations Leader will work closely with a prominent client as part of a large, global sustainability initiative. Reporting to the sustainability team lead for the Americas, this position will spearhead the formulation and implementation of an energy and waste management strategy aimed at achieving the client's sustainability objectives, including energy, water, and carbon footprint reduction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement an energy management strategy.
  • Execute comprehensive programs to meet sustainability targets.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert, educating and guiding stakeholders on energy and sustainability matters.
  • Support corporate sustainability reporting and provide insights on utility usage and environmental impact.
  • Oversee the data collection process for energy, waste, and water within JLL's technology framework, producing tailored reports for the client.
  • Identify and implement operational enhancements to improve sustainability performance across extensive real estate portfolios.
  • Collaborate with fellow energy managers to exchange best practices and explore new business opportunities.
  • Engage with facility managers to provide comprehensive advice on environmental sustainability.
  • Enhance systems and processes for optimal sustainability performance and utility management.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to junior team members.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems and their relevance to sustainability.
  • Advanced understanding of energy and water conservation strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills to benchmark and assess corporate portfolios for sustainability initiatives.
  • Expertise in Greenhouse Gas Emission scopes and reporting.
  • Familiarity with energy procurement processes and renewable energy alternatives.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex concepts and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead a technical support team in resolving intricate challenges and strategizing innovative solutions.

Desirable:

  • Experience conducting site assessments to identify conservation opportunities.
  • Proven project management capabilities and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in preparing tenders and selecting appropriate vendors.
  • Knowledge of environmental reporting, utility management, energy budgeting, and ISO 14001 compliance.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • Ability to manage small teams of energy and sustainability professionals.
