Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate residents' mental health status
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical findings
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top-tier psychiatric care for residents
  • Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary
  • Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling to residents
  • Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions
  • Offer education and support to residents and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
  • Promote mental health awareness and wellness among residents
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility
Requirements
  • Valid license as a Registered Nurse; completion of Advanced Practice Nurse Program for Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state in which you've applied
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in long-term care facilities
  • Direct experience with long-term care communities is preferred
  • Ability to travel within territory (75 mile radius of home residence)
  • Active and unrestricted driver's license
