Area Supervisor

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Supervisor to join our team. As an Area Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a designated area of the interstate to ensure the road is free of safety hazards and meets VDOT performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive the corridor daily to identify work needs on your designated route, including roadway debris, potholes, signs leaning or knocked down, hazardous trees, and other safety hazards.
- Strategize and plan for work identified on route, including equipment, materials, personnel, tools needed to perform work, and utilization of outsourced services when needed.
- Accountable for work identified and performed daily, as well as timeliness of work performed via VDOT performance requirements.
- Responsible for accurately inputting work performed into the Work Order system and verifying work is completed to satisfaction before closing out for Roadway Supervisor review.
- Oversee the work of assigned maintenance team members, ensuring their safety and providing guidance on work methods and procedures.
- 18+ years of age.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Transportation Medical Card.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and orally with managers and coworkers in English.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Company office.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. Regularly.
- Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple work orders and daily activities and meet timelines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate assignments when appropriate.
- Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience working in roadway operations, construction, utilities, or landscaping.
- CDL A or B.
- MOT Certified.
- Ability to drive manual transmission.
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
