Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Jr. Camp Counselor. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of children, develop your leadership skills, and contribute to the success of our summer camp program.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and inclusive environment for children
  • Implement activities set up by the Head Counselor, Coordinator, and Director
  • Maintain proper camper-to-counselor ratios
  • Provide a diverse and engaging camp program that meets the needs and interests of participants

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Experience working with children is desirable
  • A background in recreation, camping, or sports is favorable
  • Good overall leadership skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, a cooperative attitude, and the ability to work with and understand the needs of children
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are required prior to the beginning of camp season; training provided by YMCA
