Space Systems Engineer for Advanced Development

Axient is seeking a highly skilled Space Systems Engineer to support our customer in El Segundo, CA. The successful candidate will provide direct support to the Space Systems Command, Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power, Innovation and Prototyping Delta.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement systems engineering and acquisition planning for advanced development of space capability demonstrations, technologies, and prototypes.
- Evaluate research, development, and operational requirements against satellite command and control capabilities, and identify potential support deficiencies.
- Provide support with the engineering design, development, and integration of the satellite and ground system interface.
- Evaluate new and legacy technologies to determine their effectiveness in meeting developmental, interface, performance, and functional infrastructure requirements.
- Develop use cases and initial test plans for getting operational acceptance.
- Support review of End-Item-Data-Packages in support of acquisition closeout of requirements.
- Minimum 10+ years of aerospace engineering experience in DoD space and/or ground systems.
- Acquisition experience in program support of a satellite service bus and/or ground-based satellite command and control system for use with operational and Research and Development (R&D) satellites.
- Top Secret clearance and SCI Eligible.
- Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience developing initial test plans for smaller projects getting operational acceptance.
- Familiarity with Space System Command (Formerly Space and Missile Systems Center) process and procedures.
- Excellent and detail-oriented organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
- Advanced-level competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
