This role is integral to the BART Silicon Valley Phase II Extension Project, where expertise in rail transit and CADD is highly valued. The successful candidate will work from the San Jose Project Office and collaborate closely with the Program Management Engineering Team.
Your Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison within the contractor's design-build team for a specific design unit.
- Supervise the creation of tunnel designs and associated work plans.
- Facilitate coordination with contractor teams and external stakeholders.
- Integrate seamlessly into the Contractor's Design Unit teams and communicate directly with their managers.
- Maintain comprehensive awareness of design development progress, focusing on requirements, interface challenges, external affairs, right-of-way implications, and environmental considerations.
- Coordinate efforts between Construction Packages and VTA stakeholders.
- Stay informed about design developments that may impact costs and schedules.
- Report issues to management that require program-level attention.
- Ensure effective communication between Design Units and other internal stakeholders.
- Manage responses to contractor RFIs.
- Oversee and coordinate external design submittal reviews.
- Participate in internal design submittal reviews.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Proven experience in underground and station design.
- Experience in planning large-diameter tunneling projects in urban settings.
- Familiarity with project stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of team roles and responsibilities to effectively serve as a liaison.
- Possession of a PE or GE license.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $263,000 - $322,000, reflecting the company's commitment to fair compensation based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. WSP reserves the right to adjust compensation based on various factors.
